Initial Specification

The original specification called for 2-3 coats of Hychem SF25, a versatile epoxy protective coating. However, given the project’s specific needs, Ango Italian Concrete proposed an upgraded epoxy flooring system for enhanced protection and durability.

Upgraded Epoxy Flooring System

The final flooring system was a multi-layered industrial epoxy solution designed to provide superior protection during construction and long-term durability for the data centre’s operations. This included:

• GP-T Prime Coat: A high-performance epoxy primer designed to ensure superior adhesion to the substrate, critical for long-lasting performance.
• Supafloor Protective Coat: Applied during the construction phase, this layer safeguarded the floors from damage caused by heavy machinery and foot traffic.
• Supafloor TX: A topcoat applied to key areas to deliver a smooth, durable, and aesthetically pleasing finish.

Enhanced Flooring for High-Traffic Areas

To further bolster high-traffic zones such as vinyl corridors, a thicker and more robust epoxy system was installed:

• GP-T Prime Coat for strong adhesion.
• 2mm E300SL Coat: A seamless, self-levelling epoxy layer designed to withstand heavy traffic, equipment, and daily wear.
• Supafloor TX: This final coat provided a sleek, durable finish for these high-traffic areas, ensuring both functionality and visual appeal.
